The Perspective of a 13 Year Old in Quarantine

I was hesitating when writing this story, but I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Comment if you have constructive criticism for me. Also, please tell me your stories, I would love to read them.

When I think of the virus, for me at least, there isn’t really an image/word that sticks out in my brain. Some might say the health care workers. For me if I had to choose one it would be the drawing that was drawn by an ICU nurse in Los Angeles. It was a sketch of her heroes and fighters in isolation (shown above). Now during quarantine when I am doing my homework sometimes I think about my mom and how she would always talk about superheros. superheros are the type that do amazing and inspiring work just like health care workers. Even though this whole covid thing is happening we still never hear from them and they aren't on the Ellen show. They just work no matter what and when their shift is over they sleep and that same scheduled repeats again and again. Plus, when the pandemic is over they will still be working. So, going back to the title, I have to say my perspective is from an extroverted angle which I wouldn’t use normally.

So here are my three points and hopefully it gives you a different angle of looking at my side of the pandemic.

1. Future life

I constantly ponder on this topic all the time which is: what will happen after the pandemic; are people ever going to forget, will we ever talk about it, is climate change decreasing because of Covid 19 and will this have an effect on our daily lives from now on. I really don’t have any answers so this will be very interesting to find out about.

2. School system

Honestly I have nothing to complain about. I am in Canada so we have health care and we have school. I am not graduating to high school or university this year thank God, sorry if you are I truly feel for you. I do have one thing to say about my school I have noticed over this month. Which is that the schools aren't doing class meeting or lessons enough, now, that’s in my school I don’t know about others but universities are doing that. Otherwise I have absolutely nothing to worry about.

3. Addictions

I really thought that not a lot would change during the pandemic. As I got more exposed to the internet I found new addictions, like Medium, so please follow to help fuel my addiction. Also I found that I appreciate exercise and walks more since I do them daily. So addictions can be good and bad. I mean it’s surprising how much more good than bad they are. Now there are some bad addictions.

“The world has enough for everyone’s needs, but not everyone’s greed,”

~ Mahatma Ghandi

I don’t think that there is a short supply of toilet paper. Now I know that shortages are an issue but if we wouldn’t have panicked there would not be a lack of toilet paper. Then again I do know that since people did panic we still have to be cautious.

Now when I think of my life in quarantine I honestly think that it’s been going well. I have not been in a situation where I am bored out of my mind yet and hopefully I never will be. I hope you found my daily perspective on quarantine interesting.
