3.5 million people have died from COVID 19. I bet you didn’t expect that when the news said that our spring break was going to be extended. Or even when COVID 19 was declared a global pandemic on march 11th. It makes you think about how unprepared we were. Contrary to that, we have learned many lessons from COVID and the experience will never die in me. Here are some lessons I’ve learned.

The Experience

My experience was shocking, but eventually, I braced on like everyone else. I did realize however that this was going to be our new normal for a while. During my time in a Global Pandemic, I got a sense of how much it sucks to be alone in a pandemic (besides close family). I like thinking about the plus’s like playing extra rocket league, but I still ain’t a fan, that’s why I can’t wait till I can say “post Pandemic.”

The Beauty of Boredom

The fact that I have been bored in this global pandemic wasn’t something I was grateful for, but I should have been. Not because it was fun but because I didn’t have to worry about other problems. So many family relationships were destroyed or, are falling apart because of this pandemic, so for me to be bored and not to have to worry about my dad committing suicide from drugs is something I take for granted but, I am greatly appreciative for. Yes, boredom isn’t fun but, COVID isn’t fun for any of us and that’s why I am proud of myself and others for sticking through these very different and tuff times. So while it might not be fun it’s something that we should treasure since you never know what tomorrow will look like.

COVID Should be A lesson

This experience we are having should be a wake-up call to the government, but also everyone else. Why, well simply put, we’ve spent a lot on nuclear deterrence, so nuclear wars aren't a likely scenario, but we’ve spent very little on stopping a pandemic, As Bill Gates said. Ebola should be a wake-up call because we were lucky. Bill Gates was right. A pandemic was coming and it wasn’t going to be easy, we’ve lost 3.5 million people’s lives. So, if there’s any piece of knowledge we should get out of this pandemic, it’s that we need to start budgeting so that we care about multiple problems, so the military has roughly the same budget as stopping an epidemic, and saving the earth from climate change.

The Vast World

Some people don’t understand what a virus is, others devote their lives to that same deadly virus, both on very different spectrums. My understanding of COVID is that it’s a disease that came in from China and realized we weren’t prepared and so it started thriving throughout the world. I still think Bill Gates is too smart and that we know nothing till we know everything since this universe is so big and vast we will still have a lot to learn. I think COVID is a lesson so if we learn we should be fine.

Conclusion

I hope you found joy in COVID because it will make a difference, trust me. If you have found joy, spread it to others, and with that, I would like to know that you’re now alone, best of wishes. We are almost over with this pandemic so, remember 3.5 million deaths should be a wake up call that we need to be ready for the next global problem.
